Emergency Preparedness

We have in place, a comprehensive Emergency Preparedness Plan to effectively respond to emergency situations such as fires, accidents, oil / chemical spills and toxic / radioactive emissions during the refits. Proper identification of hazards, formulation of emergency preparedness plans and adequate training exercises are essential to effectively manage emergency situations. Periodic drills are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the plan and procedures are reviewed based on the lessons learnt from the drills. Besides regular joint emergency drills onboard vessels with owners, an annual joint exercise is conducted with the Singapore Civil Defence Force to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the shipyard’s emergency response plan and procedures.

The shipyard’s HSE department is well equipped with advanced fire-fighting equipment and rescue vehicles. All our HSE personnel are trained to perform fire-fighting and rescue operations, both safely and efficiently.

Environmental Preparedness

As an ISO 14001 certified shipyard, we have in place, an Environmental emergency preparedness plan to mitigate the effects of an environment emergency that may arise from our daily operations. Environmental drills are conducted on a regular basis to ensure the Environmental emergency preparedness plan remain adequate and relevant. Environmental control kits are provided at strategic locations to facilitate effective control in the event of an environmental emergency.
