per team. Hence, all 32 students in the class can

The committee will not entertain queries or students'
requests for comments on projects submitted earlier

All projects will be evaluated only after the closing

Question 9 :
Is this competition eligible for CCA points? Junior
Colleges currently run on a PEARLS system - one
that rewards students for their efforts and achievements
outside the usual curriculum. External organisations
when organizing competitions can get their programme
known to MOE, such that students can get some
form of recognition. For example, if it is a
recognised competition by MOE, students may receive
3 points under R for representation, instead
of just 1 point if it is not recognised.
With regards to the CCA points and the PEARLS
system, you have to approach the Head of CCA of
your school to clarify as this is not within our
area of control / management.
Question 10 :
If I have just started implementing a project
in my school, is it fine that I proceed with it even
before 15th March of the calendar year? Is it just
fine for me to proceed, such that my programme is
tailored to my school's time-table? As long as it
reaches you before the deadline, it is fine right?
Is there anything wrong in just carrying out my project
and entering it for this competition? Also, am I allowed
to submit my project for other awards at the same
time too? I am looking at the area of waste management,
and am hoping to implement an environmental programme
that can be extended to all schools in Singapore in
due time. Once I submit it to you, it is your property.
So does that mean I lose the right to try to implement
it elsewhere?
(a) Should your project not win an award,
you are free to submit the same project to another
competition.
(b) Should your project wins an award in the Green
Wave competition and should the project product or
idea be commercially patented as a result of the participation
in the Green Wave project, all patent rights will
belong to Sembawang Shipyard and costs for patent
rights will be borne by the Shipyard. The profits
from the sale of the commercially manufactured product,
if any, will be shared on a 75%-25% basis with the
school/students who originated the product benefiting
25% of the profits and the Shipyard 75% of the profits.
All cost of marketing and distributing the product
will be borne by the Shipyard.
Question 11:
Will the participants be given a Certificate of
Participation if their entries do not win a prize?
Yes,
all participants in the competition will be given
a Certificate of Participation by Sembawang
Shipyard if their entries do not win a prize, after
the competition.
Question 12 :
12: If my students
graduate on May of the calendar, do they still
qualify for the competition?
Yes, the identified students qualify for
the competition as they graduate during the duration
of the competition and as long as they have the
endorsement of the school.
Question 13 :
If I miss the deadline for the submission
of the Proposal Form (i.e. by 15th March), can I still
take part in the competition?
Yes, you can still take part in the competition as long as you submit
the Entry Forms and your project by the specified deadline, i.e. 31st July of
the calendar year.
Question 14 :
If
I have filed my project for patent, can I still
send my project for the competition?
Yes, you
can still send the project for the competition
but in the event that your project wins the award in
the Green Wave project, all patent rights will belong
to Sembawang Shipyard and costs for patent rights will
be borne by the Shipyard. The profits from the sale
of the commercially manufactured product, if any, will
be shared on a 75%-25% basis with the school/students
who originated the product benefiting 25% of the profits
and the Shipyard 75% of the profits. All cost of marketing
and distributing the product will be borne by the Shipyard.
As such, it would be financially beneficial for the
student if the project can be commercially developed
by the shipyard.
