Green Wave Enviromental Care Project

At Sembawang Shipyard, we are committed to care for the environment with our ISO 14001 Environment Management System certification since July 2002. Two major trusts will result in our contribution towards environmental care and protection. Internally, the shipyard has identified and pursued specific projects linked to our business activities and set targets towards preserving the well-being of our environment.

Externally, Sembawang Shipyard directs its attention on the young to promote and induce our students on a mindset towards a lifelong journey of responsible involvement in environmental care and protection that will make the earth a better place for future generations. With this strong motivation, we launched the Green Wave Environmental Care Project for schools in Singapore in December 2002. This is an annual competition opened to all students in Singapore.

The main objective of the Green Wave Environmental Care Project is to inculcate in students a sense of personal and group responsibility for their own environment and in the process, develop creative and innovative ideas in the area of environment care and protection. Since the launch of this meaningful project, we have received encouraging participation from the students and the schools. Our alliance partners strongly support the Green Wave project with joint sponsorships from Shell Trading and BP Shipping.
